The Pottery Studio

This quiet space, this calm place imbues me with inspiration. There are many things I aim to make in clay… sculptures, thrown pottery sets. I won’t list them all, I will show you as I go.

Continue stopping by to see what I am up to.

The Toad Mug.

This ridiculous mug has become my man’s favorite drinking glass. He uses it for milk, juice, coffee, beer.

Would you drink from a toad mug? In future iterations I think i’ll have to leave the bubble lower down so no consumer can find a way to cut his/her lip. The bubbles also pop after a while and so any toad mug for sale will have craters instead of full bubbles, at least for any larger airier bubbles!

One-Offs

These pieces are one-off experimental items. They are what has been left after some pottery shows and will be for sale on my Etsy page ChatelaineCorner.

Porcelain Leaves

These have been a train of thought I’ve been ruminating on since college. The brainstorming originated from my appreciation of another artist’s pressed leaf designs. Through deciphering how such delicate depictions were created on thrown work, I came across a process that bring to mind many applications.

Through the past two years I have been collecting stem materials, clay and glaze materials, kilns, and kiln furniture. Beginning in 2021 I will be working out the kinks of my first sculpture designs utilizing porcelain leaves.
